Assistant District Attorney Matt Kidder

 

Matt grew up in Natchez, and graduated from Cathedral High School. He then received
undergraduate degrees from Copiah-Lincoln Community College and the University of Mississippi.
Matt also obtained his Juris Doctorate from University of Mississippi. After graduating from law
school, Matt served as Honorable Lamar Pickard’s law clerk from 2005-2008 in the 22nd Circuit
Court District, comprised of Copiah, Claiborne, and Jefferson Counties. Matt went on to establish
Kidder & Norton, PLLC, in Brookhaven with Joey Norton, Esq. From 2010-2018, Matt served as
a public defender before Honorable Forrest “Al” Johnson in Amite and Franklin Counties. In 2019,
Matt left private law practice, and served as Honorable Debbie Blackwell’s staff attorney in the 6th
Circuit Court District, comprised of Adams, Amite, Franklin, and Wilkinson Counties. Matt lives
in Natchez with his wife Joanna, and their three children.
